Portuguese retailers launch back-to-school initiatives
Several Portuguese companies have launched initiatives to support families and promote sustainability during the back-to-school season.
Alves Bandeira and Staples have partnered for the ‘Juntos no regresso às aulas’ campaign. Running until August 30, the initiative aims to assist family budgets by distributing a total of 12,000 euros in Staples shopping vouchers. Participants can enter through the Alves Bandeira app or at participating gas stations using the Pontos AB loyalty program.
Meanwhile, Continente, in partnership with the brand Oxford, has reintroduced the ‘Cadernão’ project. Until September 20, customers can drop off used notebooks and paper at selected Continente Ecospots. The initiative focuses on circular economy and reforestation; for every ton of paper collected, 20 trees will be planted. Continente aims to collect 100 tons of paper this year, which would result in the planting of 2,000 trees.
