Portugal municipalities invest millions in education and infrastructure

Various Portuguese municipalities are implementing significant investments in education and local infrastructure for the upcoming academic year.

In Odemira, the municipality is allocating approximately 4.7 million euros toward school social action, including 1.22 million euros for school meals and 1.3 million euros for the OdeTE +Sucesso project, which focuses on educational success and well-being. Similarly, the municipality of Lamego has invested over 98,000 euros into curricular enrichment activities for primary school students.

Infrastructure upgrades are also a priority. Oliveira do Bairro has completed a 6-million-euro renovation of its secondary school, funded largely by the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR). In Vila de Rei, a renovation of the local primary and secondary school exceeding 2.2 million euros was inaugurated. Additionally, Porto Covo has inaugurated a new synthetic turf pitch at Campo do Mar to improve local sports facilities.
