Portuguese sports update: Padel titles and basketball venue changes

The padel club ‘Ouriços de Viseu’ has secured regional championship titles for both its men’s and women’s teams. Following the regional final held in Coimbra as part of the Liga Mudum, the club has qualified directly for the national finals scheduled for November in Porto. The club will be the sole representative from Viseu in this national stage.

In basketball, GDR André de Resende has announced that its senior women’s team will play its home games for the Liga Betclic Feminina at the Municipal Pavilion in Montemor-o-Novo during the 2026/2027 season. The club reported that after unsuccessful attempts to secure a venue in Évora that met the national competition's requirements, it reached an agreement with the Montemor-o-Novo Municipality to host the matches.
