Portugal Tourism Summit to address geopolitical and climate challenges
The VIII Portuguese Tourism Summit, organized by the Confederation of Tourism of Portugal (CTP), is scheduled for September 28 at the Four Seasons Hotel Ritz in Lisbon. Held on World Tourism Day, the event will focus on the theme “Portugal and Tourism: A Relationship of Growth.”
The summit will bring together high-level political and institutional figures, including President António José Seguro and Prime Minister Luís Montenegro, to discuss strategic challenges facing the sector. Key topics include the impact of global geopolitical instability—specifically the war in the Middle East—and the consequences of extreme climate phenomena on tourism sustainability.
Additionally, the agenda will address aviation and airport infrastructure, emphasizing the critical role of air connectivity in maintaining Portugal’s competitiveness as a global destination. Participants will include various ministers, the Governor of the Bank of Portugal, and leaders from major companies such as TAP and ANA.
