Portuguese towns host traditional White Night celebrations

Various Portuguese towns are hosting 'White Night' celebrations to promote local traditions and community engagement.

The celebration features Torres Vedras wines, street entertainment, music, and a summer fair. Scheduled for September 5, 2026, the program includes sunset sessions, DJ performances, and itinerant animation.

In Moita, thousands gathered for the traditional 'Noite Branca' (White Night), which coincided with the presentation of the Festas em Honra de Nossa Senhora da Boa Viagem. Municipal President Carlos Albino noted that the event symbolizes community unity and pride. The celebration serves to revitalize regional cultural roots and provides an economic boost to local commerce through increased visitor numbers.
