Croatia's Olho da Terra natural pool attracts daring divers

The Olho da Terra, also known as Izvor Cetine, is a natural pool formed by the source of the Cetina River in the village of Cetina, Šibenik‑Knin County, southern Croatia. The pool features a deep underwater cavern that has been measured at least 155 metres deep, while the water temperature remains between 4 °C and 8 °C, making it suitable only for experienced divers.

The site is part of a karstic mountain system that creates numerous underground rivers, canyons and caves in the Dalmatian region. Its striking blue‑green appearance and the mystery of its depth have turned the Olho da Terra into a niche tourist attraction for adventure‑seeking visitors.

Local authorities promote the pool as a unique natural landmark, but warn that the cold water and limited visibility require proper equipment and training.
