Portuguese volunteer firefighters rescue dogs in Trafaria and Monte Agraço

In Trafaria, volunteer firefighters responded to an attack in which a Pit Bull seriously injured a small dog. The crew applied first‑aid to stop the bleeding, immobilised the animal and transported it to the Egas Moniz Veterinary Hospital in Monte da Caparica for treatment.

In Sobral de Monte Agraço, firefighters were called after a medium‑large dog suffered a high fall. They secured the scene, rescued the dog without serious injury and returned it to its owners.

Both incidents illustrate the volunteers' readiness to intervene in animal emergencies and their coordination with veterinary services.
