Portugal enotourism expands with diverse grape harvest experiences

The grape harvest season in Portugal has triggered a surge in enotourism, with various wineries and regions offering immersive experiences for visitors. Programs range from traditional manual harvesting and grape treading in granite tanks to specialized tours involving gastronomy and wine tastings.

In the Douro and Vinho Verde regions, estates like Churchill’s and Quinta do Ameal offer hands-on participation in the harvest. In Alentejo, Herdade das Servas provides unique “moonlight harvests” featuring night picking and sunset dinners, while Esporão offers programs across Alentejo, Douro, and Minho.

Other regional activities include walking tours in Vila da Marmeleira, boat trips on the Tagus River organized by Adega do Cartaxo, and the 63rd Grape Harvest Festival in Palmela.
