Portuguese wineries announce new vintage releases
Portuguese wineries Quinta das Queimas and Quinta da Boavista have announced new wine releases highlighting regional diversity and heritage.
Quinta das Queimas is launching the Eira Velha Branco 2024, produced from a vineyard in the Dão region planted in 1930. The limited production of 1,600 bottles is based on the Encruzado grape (50%) blended with Malvasia-Fina, Gouveio, Bical, and Cerceal-Branco. The wine underwent 10 days of fermentation in stainless steel followed by 12 months of aging in French oak. It has an alcohol content of 13.5%.
Quinta da Boavista, owned by the Kopke Group, has introduced six new vintages from its Douro estate. The collection includes the Boa-Vista Touriga Nacional 2022, the Boa-Vista Touriga Franca 2022, and the Boa-Vista Reserva Tinto 2022, which blends grapes from old and new vines. Additionally, the estate presented the Vinha do Levante 2023, its first white wine.
