Posadas-Encarnación train remains Argentina's only international rail service

Argentina maintains a single regular international passenger rail service connecting Posadas in Misiones to Encarnación in Paraguay. The journey spans approximately eight kilometers and takes about eight minutes to complete.

The train crosses the Paraná River via the San Roque González de Santa Cruz International Bridge. Operating with a frequency of every thirty minutes, the service utilizes air-conditioned carriages with a capacity for roughly 250 passengers. The route serves as a direct link between the two cities without intermediate stations.
