POSCO E&C’s Otier Banpo wins four major design awards

POSCO E&C’s high-end apartment complex, Otier Banpo, has won four main prizes at the Red Dot Design Award 2026 and the K-Design Award 2026. The recognition highlights the project’s integration of eco-friendly technology and inclusive spatial design.

The exterior design, titled ‘The Peak Wave,’ draws inspiration from the waves of the Han River. It incorporates a Building-Integrated Photovoltaic (BIPV) system that functions as an exterior finish to generate electricity. This system contributed to the complex receiving a Zero Energy Building (ZEB) Grade 5 certification, which helps reduce common area electricity costs for residents and provides a 15% reduction in original acquisition tax for the reconstruction union.

Other award-winning features include ‘The Flow,’ a wayfinding signage system designed for accessibility by children and the elderly, and ‘Confluence,’ a community space utilizing AI-based music, specialized scents, and natural lighting to create a multi-sensory environment. POSCO E&C has recorded 27 design awards over the past three years.
