POSCO expands customized support for regional SMEs in Pohang and Gwangyang

POSCO's Shared Growth Group has reported significant results from its ‘Steel One Team’ initiative, which provides customized support to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the Pohang and Gwangyang regions.

In the first half of 2026, the support group identified 79 improvement tasks within these regions out of a total of 109 tasks nationwide, successfully completing 23 of them. The support includes technical assistance, such as analyzing equipment failures for SICNT in Pohang, and digital security diagnostics for Kumhong Enterprise and Gwangyang Tech to prevent ransomware infections.

Additionally, the initiative matched 15 companies with government and institutional support programs, totaling approximately 3.3 billion won in benefits. This includes helping companies participate in smart eco-factory and smart energy platform projects. POSCO also focused on safety, visiting 38 companies to improve their safety competency ratings, resulting in 10 companies achieving a rating of level 4 or higher.
