POSCO International pilots blockchain tokenization of trade receivables on Injective

South Korea’s largest trading firm, POSCO International, has begun a pilot with LG CNS to tokenize its trade receivables on the Injective layer‑1 blockchain. The proof‑of‑concept uses actual commercial invoices from POSCO’s overseas subsidiaries rather than simulated data, creating a single shared ledger that records each invoice, its compliance details and settlement instructions. By moving receivables to a blockchain the companies aim to cut the multi‑day reconciliation cycles that traditionally delay cash flow, improving working‑capital management for the group’s global operations.

The pilot is scheduled for completion by the end of the year, with a plan to transition the solution to live production in 2026. POSCO International reported $22.2 billion in revenue last year. The tokenized‑asset market is estimated at about $35 billion today, and Citi projects it could grow to $5.5 trillion by 2030. LG CNS, which previously led South Korea’s wholesale central‑bank digital‑currency trials and built tokenized‑deposit platforms for seven major banks, provides the technical integration for the project.
