Poseidon Aerospace unveils Egret autonomous cargo drone

Poseidon Aerospace has introduced Egret, a large-scale autonomous cargo drone designed to transport freight without an onboard pilot. Developed by former Amazon and Lockheed Martin engineers David Zagaynov and Parker Tenney, the aircraft features a 50-foot wingspan and a payload capacity of approximately 4,000 pounds (1,814 kilograms).

By eliminating the cockpit and life-support systems required for human pilots, the design maximizes internal volume for cargo and reduces overall weight. Co-founder David Zagaynov describes the technology as the “autonomous trucks of the sky,” aiming to move shipments between locations more economically than traditional freight aircraft.
