Positano commemorates Don Raffaele Talamo during Festa dell’Assunta

The Festa dell’Assunta concluded at the Chiesa Madre in Positano with a large assembly gathered for a service of faith and gratitude. During the ceremony, a significant moment was dedicated to honoring the memory of the historic priest Don Raffaele Talamo on the 21st anniversary of his passing.

Don Raffì Celentano, who previously assisted Don Raffaele in local celebrations before entering the priesthood himself, delivered an emotional homily. He described the event as a “double duty”: a joyful thanks to the Lord for the community's ability to honor the Madonna, and a necessary public remembrance of a beloved pastor. Celentano emphasized the importance of memory, noting that a person is truly gone only when they are no longer remembered.
