Positano Municipality under investigation for public procurement irregularities

Carabinieri from the Salerno Provincial Command have executed a new order to seize documents from the Positano Municipality as part of an ongoing investigation into public procurement processes. This latest phase focuses on documentation regarding a tender for four ticket booths to be located on the Positano pier.

The investigation targets procedures managed by the previous administration. Authorities are examining allegations of corruption, bid-rigging, and favoritism toward a specific group of local companies. Investigators are looking into whether contracts were repeatedly awarded to the same entities, potentially bypassing legal rotation principles for public tenders.

The specific tender in question had already been canceled by the municipality in June through self-protection measures. Currently, the investigation is in a fact-finding stage to verify the formal and substantive regularity of administrative acts; no officials or technicians have been formally charged at this time.
