Positano named Europe’s happiest destination

Positano, located on Italy’s Amalfi Coast, has been named the happiest destination in Europe according to a new study by the Irish travel insurance company JustCover. The ranking is based on an ‘Happy Place Score’ derived from an analysis of over one million online reviews across 155 global destinations.

Unlike traditional rankings based on tourism volume or pricing, this metric measures emotional perception by identifying language related to joy, serenity, and personal satisfaction in traveler comments. Positano achieved a perfect score of 100/100.

Italy also secured other high positions in the European rankings, with Florence placing fourth and Rome appearing in tenth place.
