Posof red-fleshed apples successfully cultivated in Yozgat

Dursun Doğan has successfully cultivated the Posof apple, a geographically registered variety known for its unique red interior, in the Yozgat region of Turkey. Originally introduced to him by a friend from Nevşehir, the saplings adapted quickly to the local climate, producing fruit within their first year of planting.

The Posof apple is noted for its high anthocyanin and antioxidant content. Doğan, who is diabetic, reported that consuming the fruit helps stabilize his blood sugar levels. The fruit has garnered significant local interest due to its distinct aroma and visual appearance, with neighbors expressing curiosity about the unique variety.
