Possible dinosaur tracks discovered near Hutto, Texas
Two fishermen in Hutto, Texas, discovered large, unusual footprints near a riverbank that have sparked speculation regarding prehistoric origins. The prints, estimated to be between 18 and 25 inches long, were described by the finders as being significantly larger than human hands and feet combined.
Thomas Adams, chief curator of paleontology at the Witte Museum in San Antonio, reviewed photographs of the prints. Adams noted that while the weathered condition of the tracks makes a definitive identification difficult without in-person inspection, they do resemble dinosaur footprints. He suggested that if the tracks are indeed dinosaurian, they may be tridactyl, or three-toed, in shape.
