Possible Love selected as South Korea's Oscar entry

South Korea has selected the drama Possible Love, directed by Lee Chang-dong, as its official entry for the Best International Feature Film category at the 99th Academy Awards. The film marks the director's first project since 2018's Burning.

Directed by Lee and co-written with Oh Jung-mi, the story follows two married couples whose lives intersect during a documentary project. The cast includes Jeon Do-yeon, Sul Kyung-gu, Zo In-sung, and Cho Yeo-jeong. The film has already received recognition at major festivals, including the Venice International Film Festival, the Toronto International Film Festival, and the New York Film Festival.

Netflix will handle the global streaming release on November 6, following a select cinema release on October 23. The Korean Film Council noted the film's strong potential for an awards campaign, including a planned push for the Best Picture category.
