Post Bellum launches nationwide collection for Veterans Day

The organization Post Bellum is conducting a nationwide collection in the Czech Republic to commemorate Veterans Day on November 11. From November 9 to 12, volunteers will be present in streets and public spaces offering red poppies, the symbol of the day, to collect donations.

Proceeds from the collection will support the Memory of a Nation (Paměť národa) Help Center, which provides social counseling, volunteer visits, and material or financial assistance to veterans and freedom fighters. A portion of the funds will also be used to record and preserve the testimonies of veterans for future generations.

In Plzeň, the Diocese of Plzeň is supporting the initiative through a benefit concert titled “Concert for Heroes,” performed by the Plzeň Philharmonic at St. Bartholomew Cathedral on November 11. Donations can also be made online via the official project website.
