Postbank and Pesalink partner to expand cash deposit access in Kenya
Postbank and the instant payment platform Pesalink have launched a partnership allowing customers of participating banks to make cash deposits through Postbank’s network of over 600 agents and branches across Kenya.
By utilizing Pesalink’s shared payments infrastructure, participating financial institutions can access Postbank’s nationwide agent network without requiring separate bilateral agreements or individual technical integrations. While the current arrangement is limited to cash deposits, withdrawals through these agents are not yet available.
Gituku Kirika, CEO of Integrated Payment Services Limited, noted that agent banking remains a vital channel for financial inclusion in Kenya. Postbank expects more financial institutions to join the service in the coming months, further increasing the interoperability of the country’s financial services ecosystem.
