Poste Italiane launches pet insurance for veterinary care

Poste Assicura, a division of Poste Italiane, has launched a new insurance line called ‘Poste Vivere Protetti’ specifically designed for pet owners of dogs and cats. The product aims to address the rising and often unpredictable costs associated with veterinary care and third-party liability.

The insurance offers two primary coverage options. The veterinary expense reimbursement includes coverage for surgical interventions and related hospitalizations with a maximum limit of 2,000 euros. It also provides coverage for non-surgical expenses, such as examinations and hospitalizations due to illness or injury, with a limit of 1,000 euros. A separate surgical-only option is available with a limit of 1,500 euros.

Additionally, the policies provide coverage for civil liability and legal protection. The service includes veterinary assistance, such as locating specialized clinics and pharmacies. Depending on the chosen veterinary facility, customers can receive a 90% reimbursement for expenses at contracted centers or 80% at non-contracted facilities.
