Poste Italiane expands national defibrillator safety project
Poste Italiane is expanding its national cardioprotection project, ‘La Sicurezza ci sta a Cuore’, which aims to install over 800 automated external defibrillators (AEDs) across 242 company sites.
In Sicily, the company has installed 11 latest-generation AEDs across seven provinces, including Palermo, Catania, Messina, Caltanissetta, Ragusa, Siracusa, and Agrigento. These devices feature remote monitoring systems and will be registered with the 118 emergency services to integrate them into the regional emergency network. The devices are designed to provide voice instructions to assist users without specific medical training.
In Tuscany, the initiative has seen the installation of 16 AEDs. For these efforts, Poste Italiane received the ‘BLSD Angels’ regional award from the association Siena Cuore ODV during the ninth edition of the ‘Progetto Vita’. The award recognizes the company’s contribution to territorial cardioprotection and the strengthening of the emergency-urgency chain.
