Poste Italiane posts record half-year earnings, pushes TIM integration

Poste Italiane announced its best half‑year results in five consecutive semesters. For the first half of 2026 the group posted €6.8 billion in revenue (up 6%), adjusted EBIT of €1.8 billion (up 7%) and net profit of €1.2 billion (up 4%). Growth was broad‑based, covering parcels and logistics—boosted by a joint venture with Benetton—insurance, and postal savings, where net investment collection reached €2.7 billion. Customers’ financial assets under management exceeded €613 billion, a 13% rise since December.

CEO Matteo Del Fante highlighted the “solidità e la resilienza” of the business model and outlined three parallel initiatives: a reorganisation of the Postal Savings arm with a new term sheet with Cassa Depositi e Prestiti for 2027‑2030, the creation of a single Financial Hub that will merge payments and financial services, and a partial spin‑off of PostePay to the parent company effective 1 January 2027. The group also confirmed progress on its integration with former incumbent telecom TIM, with TIM’s board deeming Poste’s offer financially sound on 18 July and the offer period commencing on 20 July.
