Poste Italiane begins August pension payments across Italian provinces
From Saturday 1 August, Poste Italiane will make the August pension instalments available in cash at post‑office branches throughout Italy. The payments can also be credited automatically to a Libretto di Risparmio, Conto BancoPosta or Postepay Evolution for those who have chosen that option.
Pensioners holding a debit card linked to a bank account or a Postepay can withdraw cash at Postamat ATMs without visiting the counter. A valid identity document is required for counter withdrawals, and a third‑party may collect the money on the pensioner’s behalf.
Poste Italiane offers a free insurance policy that reimburses up to €700 per year if cash is stolen within two hours of withdrawal. The company advises retirees to collect their pension in the late morning or early afternoon and to avoid the first days of the month to lessen waiting times.
In the town of Montesarchio, the mobile post office unit had not yet been installed as of 29 July, prompting Forza Italia local commissioner Antonio Del Giacco to request the municipality provide a shuttle service for pensioners unable to reach the post office.
