Poste Italiane staff prevent 20,000 euro fraud in Belluno
Poste Italiane staff and law enforcement successfully prevented two financial fraud attempts in the Belluno province, saving customers approximately 20,000 euros.
In the first incident, a postal worker in Belluno city suspicious of a customer's urgent request to transfer 5,000 euros in cash intervened and contacted the Postal Police. In a second case in Cadore, a customer attempted to transfer 14,000 euros to a bank account in Cyprus. Despite automated security systems initially blocking the transaction, the customer was persuaded to desist by the office director and law enforcement officers after being pressured by scammers to increase the amount.
