Poste Italiane tender offer for TIM reaches 3.3% participation
Poste Italiane’s tender offer (OPAS) for TIM shares has seen an increase in participation, reaching 3.3439% as of August 31. This follows a period where participation was reported at approximately 3% in late August. Total shares tendered have exceeded 57 million.
The operation, which began on July 20, is subject to a binding effectiveness threshold: Poste Italiane requires at least 66.67% of TIM’s ordinary capital to proceed with the takeover. The formal deadline for the offer is September 11.
Market analysts note that participation in large financial operations often accelerates near the closing date as institutional investors finalize decisions. However, the economic terms of the offer remain a point of scrutiny for small shareholders. Investors intending to participate via market purchases must note that shares bought on September 10 and 11 cannot be used to join the tender offer.
