PostFinance Women’s League begins 2026/2027 season

The PostFinance Women’s League is set to begin its 2026/2027 season on Saturday, September 12, 2026. Following the withdrawal of the HC Ambri-Piotta women's team, seven teams will compete this season: defending champions EV Zug, runners-up SC Bern, HC Davos Ladies, HC Fribourg-Gottéron Ladies, Neuchâtel Hockey Academy, ZSC Lions, and newly promoted Lausanne HC Féminin.

Due to the reduction in teams, the regular season will now consist of 24 matches per team. The tournament structure dictates that the top two teams qualify directly for the playoff semifinals. Teams finishing in third through sixth place will compete in play-ins on February 27 and 28, 2027, using an aggregate score format. The team finishing in seventh place will end its season, as no play-outs will be held this year.

Opening matches include HC Fribourg-Gottéron Ladies against SC Bern, HC Davos Ladies against ZSC Lions, and Neuchâtel Hockey Academy against EV Zug on September 12. Lausanne HC Féminin will make its debut on Sunday, September 13, playing away against SC Bern.
