Posti to release new Finnish landscape and bird postage stamps

Posti is set to release three new postage stamp series on September 9, featuring Northern birds, Finnish national landscapes, and unique Finnish customs.

The fourth installment of the popular national landscape series completes the collection of all 27 Finnish national landscapes. Designed by Stiina Hovi, these stamps include the Heinävesi lake route, Rautavesi cultural landscapes, Pohja foundries, the Kvarken archipelago, Oulankajoki, and Sund in Åland.

Additionally, a series featuring Northern birds will showcase the crane and the swan. Designed by Reetta Ranta and Riikka Haro, these stamps draw inspiration from the golden age of Finnish painting, the Kalevala, and Japanese woodblock aesthetics. The designers utilized artificial intelligence as a creative tool to bring Finnish mythology and nature wisdom to life.
