Čapljina postman missing after disappearance with pensions

Police in Bosnia and Herzegovina have launched an operational search for a 31-year-old postman, identified as S. J., from Višići near Čapljina, after he disappeared following the collection of pensions.

Unconfirmed reports suggest that between 50 and 60 pensions, totaling approximately 27,000 convertible marks (roughly 14,000 euros), were not delivered to retirees. While official confirmation regarding the theft of funds has not been issued, the disappearance has caused significant concern among local pensioners.

According to unofficial information, the postman traveled through Mostar and Sarajevo before flying to Turkey, with a flight ticket indicating Bangkok, Thailand, as his final destination. His mother reported him missing to the Čapljina Police Administration after losing contact with him via WhatsApp.

Hrvatska pošta Mostar has confirmed it is conducting internal investigations to determine the facts and circumstances of the case. The postal service assured retirees that there is no cause for concern and that all pensions will be paid regularly to ensure the continuity of services.
