Posture-Boosting Exercises Recommended by Health Experts

The World Health Organization estimates that low back pain affects about 619 million people worldwide and could rise to 843 million by 2050, making it the leading cause of global disability. Sedentary work habits, prolonged screen time, and extended sitting are identified as major risk factors.

Physical‑education specialist Jessé Ramos of TotalPass advises short, active breaks of up to five minutes to counteract muscular tension. He highlights seven simple exercises that can be performed at a desk, including cervical mobility drills, shoulder rotations, and other movements designed to improve neck, shoulder and upper‑back flexibility.

Ramos notes, “Small moments of movement throughout the day can make a difference in how the body responds to prolonged sitting.” Incorporating these brief routines may help reduce discomfort and support better posture for people who work or study for long periods.
