Posyandu Matahari inaugurated in Sleman, Indonesia, launches Vitamin A month

On 4 August 2026 the Posyandu Matahari health post was inaugurated in the village of Hargobinangun, Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region, Indonesia. The ceremony was attended by Bupati Harda Kiswaya, BRI corporate social responsibility vice‑president Dinne Shovia Tresna Amalia, Ministry of Health’s Director of Health Promotion dr. Niken Wastu Palupi, Rabu Biru Foundation chairman Toro Sudarmadi and local officials.

The opening coincided with the launch of a Vitamin A month aimed at ensuring infants and toddlers receive adequate nutrition, supporting growth, immunity and eye health. The facility is part of the “Desa Brilian 1000 Hari Pertama Kehidupan” program, which seeks to strengthen primary health services for pregnant women, nursing mothers, babies and children, and to curb stunting in the region.

BRI’s CSR initiative, BRI Peduli, provides resources for capacity‑building of health cadres, nutrition education, supplemental feeding and even community fish farming to improve protein intake. Local village head Amin Sarjito welcomed the project, noting that the upgraded Posyandu will serve as a centre for health education and family support during the critical first 1,000 days of life.
