Potenza and ASL1 face local administrative and labor disputes

In Potenza, local political groups are criticizing the municipal administration for prioritizing large-scale announcements over immediate local needs. While Mayor Vincenzo Telesca celebrated ARERA’s conclusion of the gas distribution service examination for the ATEM Potenza 2 – Sud area, critics point to stalled infrastructure projects. Specifically, in Contrada Botte, a project to extend the methane gas network to approximately 80 families remains unexecuted despite having approved funding of roughly €100,000 involving state funds and Italgas.

Simultaneously, labor unions FIM, FIOM, and RSU have declared a state of agitation against the ASL1 health authority (Avezzano–L’Aquila–Sulmona). The unions are protesting a decision to reduce the workforce for the maintenance of thermal and electrical plants from 65 to 53 units in a new bridge tender. This move contradicts a previous agreement reached in July 2026, which had intended to maintain the existing staff levels while adding new technicians.
