Potosí announces major infrastructure and tourism projects
The Municipal Government of Potosí has announced several major infrastructure projects, including the construction of two grade-separated junctions on Circunvalación and Antofagasta avenues, and a dual carriageway between the former Garita Surco and Cachi Tambo.
Mayor Williams Cervantes Beltrán is also seeking approval from the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) for a tourist cable car project. This proposed route would run from the former Ichumi Mill to Cerro Chico, passing through Pary Orcko Park, Casa Huallpa, and the Casa de la Cultura. Additionally, projects for the intervention of the Historic Center and the restoration of the 'Cárcamos' will be presented to the AECID mission.
The Municipal Council has approved a budget of approximately 512.45 million bolivianos for the 2027 Annual Operating Program, with 384.34 million bolivianos allocated to public investment.
