Potosí bus companies reduce ticket prices amid low demand

Interdepartmental transport companies operating from the Potosí Bus Terminal have reduced ticket prices due to a significant drop in passenger demand. This adjustment comes despite a previously agreed 35% tariff increase with the Authority for Regulation and Supervision of Telecommunications and Transport (ATT).

The price reduction is a response to the “diéselazo,” an increase in diesel prices that has raised operational costs for the transport sector while simultaneously reducing the population's purchasing power. Gabriel Vélez, head of the Potosí land terminal, stated that market supply and demand are the primary drivers, as companies are forced to lower prices to fill empty seats and ensure vehicles depart.

For example, fares on the Potosí–La Paz route, which previously cost up to 250 Bolivianos, are now being offered between 100 and 150 Bolivianos.
