Potsdam police investigate group attack leaving three injured

Three young people were injured during a violent attack in the Schlaatz district of Potsdam on Tuesday evening. According to police, approximately ten unknown individuals surrounded and assaulted a 19-year-old man, causing head injuries that required hospitalization. Two acquaintances of the victim, aged 19 and 21, also sustained minor injuries during the incident.

Authorities are investigating whether this attack is linked to previous instances of youth violence in the region, including a significant incident in Berlin-Wannsee in September. Local CDU politician Maximilian Adams has called for increased police presence and a dedicated joint investigation task force between Potsdam and Berlin to address rising concerns regarding youth gangs in the area.
