Pottencial Seguradora expands agricultural insurance amid drone growth and wildfire risks
Pottencial Seguradora is expanding its presence in the Brazilian agribusiness sector, specifically targeting the growing drone market. The company reported that agricultural premiums currently account for R$ 190 million, or 10% of its total, with a goal to reach R$ 250 million by 2027. A specialized drone insurance product, launched three months ago, has already generated R$ 1.5 million in premiums and covers approximately 200 units. This growth aligns with a significant increase in the Brazilian agricultural drone fleet, which rose from 3,000 units in 2021 to 35,000 in 2025.
Simultaneously, the onset of the critical wildfire season in Minas Gerais and other Brazilian regions has heightened the importance of property and rural insurance. Experts note that low humidity and high temperatures increase the risk of fires affecting crops, machinery, warehouses, and rural installations. Insurance is being highlighted as a vital tool to mitigate financial losses and ensure the continuity of productive activities during these periods of environmental stress.
