Pottencial Seguradora launches specialized insurance for agricultural drones

Pottencial Seguradora has launched a specialized insurance product designed specifically for agricultural drones in Brazil. The move addresses a growing market where the drone fleet used in the field has expanded from roughly 3,000 units in 2021 to 35,000 in 2025.

The new policy provides coverage for equipment damage, theft, fire, and electrical issues, as well as civil liability and financial compensation during repair periods. It also includes protection against third-party damages, such as the drift of agricultural pesticides.

Since its introduction three months ago, the product has generated R$ 1.5 million in premiums and covers approximately 200 drones. Pottencial aims to grow its agribusiness sector revenue to R$ 250 million by 2027. To qualify for coverage, both the operator and the equipment must be registered with ANAC and the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAPA).
