POUYUENJI KYOTO announces two upcoming cultural exhibitions
POUYUENJI KYOTO, a brand specializing in the curation of global teas, has announced two upcoming exhibitions in the Higashiyama district of Kyoto.
The first exhibition, titled ‘Chairo Senkei’ (Tea-Colored Scenery), will run from October 7 to November 1, 2026. It features the work of traditional dyer Hideo Tao, who will use POUYUENJI’s signature ‘JIN DA MO’ raw Pu-erh tea as a natural dye to create noren curtains, tapestries, and table cloths.
The second exhibition, ‘A Vessel for Time,’ curated by artist Mai Miyake, is scheduled from November 4 to December 24, 2026. This showcase aims to explore the intersection of tea, craft, and art, including the ‘Gyokuseki Kongo Project’ involving Tomomi Nakamura and Mai Miyake.
