Pove del Grappa Mayor Francesco Dalmonte to receive award for heroic rescue

Francesco Dalmonte, the mayor of Pove del Grappa, is being honored with the Loris Doriano Romano award in Villa Bartolomea. The award recognizes his extraordinary courage and altruism.

On August 8 of last year, while serving as a chief assistant in the State Police and escorting a union procession on the Muggia seafront, Dalmonte observed an elderly woman drowning following a medical emergency. He jumped into the sea to rescue her and performed life-saving maneuvers until medical personnel arrived. Although the woman passed away in the hospital hours later, the commission recognized Dalmonte’s actions as an exemplary demonstration of civic duty and service.
