Power China begins Kadinjača tunnel project in Bajina Bašta

The Bajina Bašta municipality has held its first working meeting with the Chinese company Power China to initiate the construction of the Kadinjača tunnel. This strategic infrastructure project is designed to improve connectivity between central and southeastern Bosnia and Herzegovina and Corridors 10 and 11, while also enhancing links between western and central Serbia and central Bosnia.

The project involves a 6.28 km modification of the state road IB order no. 28 on the Dub–Dubci section, featuring a 1,266-meter tunnel and two three-way intersections. Once completed, the route is expected to reduce travel times and transport costs by allowing traffic to bypass Belgrade.

Following the issuance of permits for preparatory works, the contractor has a 42-month deadline to secure final construction permits, build all necessary infrastructure, and bring the project into operation. Local authorities noted that the project could stimulate regional investment and tourism in areas such as Zlatibor, Drina, Zlatar, and Tara.
