Power Electronics begins construction on 40 GW factory in Houston
Spanish manufacturer Power Electronics has commenced construction on a 210,000 m2 industrial campus in Houston, Texas. Once fully operational, the facility is expected to have an annual production capacity of up to 40 GW of energy conversion systems.
The site will integrate production, logistics, electronics manufacturing, research and development, and training facilities. It aims to support the US market and other regions across the Americas by producing equipment for solar PV, energy storage, data centers, electric mobility, and industrial applications. The project is expected to create more than 400 jobs.
This expansion complements the company’s existing complex in Llíria, Valencia, Spain, which is also being expanded from 100,000 m2 to 150,000 m2. Following these developments, Power Electronics expects its total global annual production capacity to reach 105 GW.
