Power outages and extreme heat impact residents in Khuzestan and Sistan and Baluchestan
Residents in Ahvaz and other parts of Khuzestan province are facing severe challenges due to unannounced and irregular power outages during extreme heatwaves. With temperatures exceeding 50 degrees Celsius, the lack of cooling systems poses significant health risks, particularly to the elderly and vulnerable populations.
Beyond the physical discomfort, the frequent voltage fluctuations and sudden power cuts have caused substantial financial damage to citizens by destroying expensive household electrical appliances. Residents have expressed frustration over the lack of compensation from insurance companies and the difficulty of repairing or replacing damaged equipment during this economic period.
Simultaneously, in Sistan and Baluchestan province, the electricity distribution company has released scheduled outage tables for several cities, including Zahedan, Zabol, and Chabahar, to manage the high demand during the current period.
