Power outages reported in Norway and Sweden

Significant power outages have affected customers in Norway and Sweden due to technical failures and weather conditions.

In Norway, Elinett reported a total network failure during the night of February 4. The outage was caused by a fault in the Statnett line that supplies the area. While most customers had power restored between 00:49 and 01:38, approximately 100 customers in the Flemma-Gagnat area of Gjemnes experienced longer delays due to fallen trees. Elinett is working with Statnett to evaluate the cause and ensure future stability.

In Sweden, an extensive outage occurred on Tjörn during the night of November 7. Ellevio reported that up to 1,560 customers were without electricity at the peak of the incident. This follows a separate power outage on Friday evening caused by a fire in a power line at Västra Balkeröd, which affected 949 customers. It remains unclear if the overnight outage is connected to the previous fire.
