Powerball and NFL launch new weekly lottery game

Powerball and the NFL have launched a new weekly draw game called ‘Powerball Xs & Os’. Available in 24 jurisdictions including Maryland and New Jersey, the $5 game allows players to select eight NFL team logos from the league's 32 teams.

Drawings are held weekly on Sundays, with the first scheduled for September 13. The jackpot starts at $1 million and rolls over until won. Other prize tiers include $20,000 for matching seven teams, $500 for six, $40 for five, and $7 for four. The odds of winning the jackpot are approximately 1 in 10.5 million.

Officials emphasized that the game is a lottery draw and is not tied to the actual outcomes of NFL games or sports betting. The launch also introduces a national promotional program where players can earn points to enter drawings for prizes such as trips to Super Bowl LXI and NFL Shop gift cards.
