Powerbank Chargers Tested for Travel Efficiency and New Airline Safety Rules

A review of UGREEN’s travel‑oriented accessories found the Nexode Air 65 W charger and the MagFlow Air 10 000 mAh battery to be exceptionally compact while delivering full‑speed charging for smartphones, tablets and laptops. The charger uses GaN technology, fits in a pocket and powers a laptop without sacrificing performance; the battery’s integrated USB‑C cable and slim profile also received positive remarks.

Airline regulations for external lithium‑ion powerbanks now require they be carried in hand luggage only, with a maximum combined capacity of 100 Wh (about 27 000 mAh). Two powerbanks may be taken onboard if the limit is not exceeded; units between 100 Wh and 160 Wh must be declared and may be placed in the cargo hold, while anything above 160 Wh is prohibited. Since 2025, carriers such as Singapore Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Emirates, Qatar Airways, Etihad, Lufthansa, Air France and Swiss have banned in‑flight use and imposed stricter storage rules, citing fire risk.
