Powerdot opens electric vehicle charger repair center in Porto
Powerdot, a major European electric vehicle charging infrastructure operator, has invested 1.5 million euros to open a specialized component repair and management center in Porto, Portugal. The 600-square-meter facility is designed to repair approximately 200 components per month, with the capacity to handle up to 2,400 components annually.
The center integrates three main functions: electronic component repair, charger storage, and centralized spare parts management. By developing these internal capabilities, Powerdot aims to reduce its dependence on manufacturers, accelerate maintenance timelines, and decrease charger downtime. The initiative supports circular economy principles by prioritizing the repair and reuse of parts rather than purchasing new ones.
Powerdot operates a network of over 13,000 charging points across Europe, including more than 1,650 in Poland. The company expects the investment to generate cumulative savings of approximately 10 million euros over the first five years of operation. The facility will support maintenance operations across six European markets.
