Powerscreen celebrates 60 years of mobile screening innovation
Powerscreen held a special event called ‘PowerFest’ at its manufacturing centre of excellence in Dungannon, Northern Ireland, to continue its 60th anniversary celebrations. The event brought together employees, retirees, distributors, suppliers, customers, and local community members for factory tours, school visits, live music, and charitable fundraising.
Founded in 1966 as Ulster Plant Ltd in County Tyrone, the company pioneered the concept of mobile screening. This innovation changed the aggregates industry by allowing machines to be brought to the material rather than transporting material to fixed processing plants. The anniversary year has included various milestones, such as showcasing innovation at CONEXPO and celebrating heritage at Hillhead, which featured the restoration of the original MK1 mobile screening machine.
Sean Loughran, Powerscreen’s business line director, noted that while the company is globally recognized for pioneering mobile screening, the anniversary serves to recognize the people and communities that have shaped the business over the last six decades.
