PowerTransitions acquires 1,242 MW Roseton Generating Facility in New York

PowerTransitions has acquired the 1,242 MW Roseton Generating Facility in Newburgh, New York, from a subsidiary of Castleton Commodities International LLC. The dual-fuel natural gas-fired plant has been supplying power to NYISO Zone G since 1974.

The company intends to redevelop the site into a multi-use energy campus. This redevelopment plan includes the integration of new energy storage systems to leverage existing grid infrastructure and enhance regional reliability as electricity demand grows.

This acquisition brings PowerTransitions’ total power generation assets under operation to approximately 1.8 GW across eight power stations within the PJM, NYISO, and ISO-NE regions. The deal follows the acquisition of the company by Partners Group last year.
